20 weeks

Dear baby BOY,
Yep, that's right! We went to the doctor last night and found out you are a sweet little boy! Oh it makes me even more excited to meet you! Although, I must admit, I was pretty shocked. I was so sure you were a girl! But goodness, little boys are the sweetest thing around how could I be anything but thrilled?! I already went through Owen's newborn clothes this morning and I can't wait to put them to use again!
I loved watching you on the ultrasound screen last night, you're such a wiggle worm! At first you're thighs were so close together that we didn't think you were going to show us the goods, but it wasn't long before you gave us a few good views. And then we got to see you're cute face, back and spine, and a foot.  I'm so glad you are growing so healthy and strong!
You are now the size of a banana! You're about 6 1/2 inches long and weigh 10.2 ounces. And you have working taste buds, I hope you're liking the foods I've been eating :) you're gulping a lot more amniotic fluid than you have been, which is a good thing because it's going to help you grow! Which might explain why I'm so hungry all the time lately!
I love you sweet boy, forever and ever,
Mom

18 weeks

Dear baby,
You've been growing in my belly for a little over 18 weeks now. It doesn't seem like it's been very long, but we're almost half way there already until I get to hold you in my arms! Me and your dad and Owen are so excited to meet you! Actually, Owen doesn't know about you yet, but I think he'll understand soon. I can't wait to see him with you! I hope you two are best friends! And your sweet dad has been so excited for you, I know you're going to adore him, just like me and Owen do.
Right now you are about the size of a sweet potato and you're learning how to hiccup, swallow, suck and yawn. Baby yawns are my favorite, it makes my heart melt just thinking about it! You're also twisting and kicking around in there. I felt you kick for the first time a little over a week ago and I've been feeling you more and more every day since then. I can't wait until they become strong enough for your dad to feel you, too. Lately you're making me crave anything citrus.. Orange juice, grapefruit, orange julius... And milk! I love a big glass of milk lately! Regular and chocolate. I don't think you're going to be a big fan of wheat bread, though. Even before I took a pregnancy test I couldn't stand the thought of anything wheat!
You are such a miracle, little one, and I feel so blessed to be able to hold you in my tummy while you grow.
I love you like crazy already,
Mom

Happy Anniversary to us!

I can't believe yesterday Clark and I celebrated our FOURTH anniversary!! It doesn't seem that long ago that I woke up and drove to the Manti Temple with my parents and married the man of my dreams.
We celebrated by going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then we saw The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It was a little weird, but cute. Clark really loved it. I got super spoiled, he surprised me with a flower delivery during the day while I was home tending kids, and he came home early from work with a Pepsi. He knows me well :) he also got me a necklace with a birthstone and initial for him, me, and Owen. I can't wait to add another one to it this summer! I made him a book from shutterfly with all the pictures since we've met.
The past four years haven't been easy. Clark has had to get used to a whole lot of crazy from me and I've had to get used to some crazy, too. We've had to learn how to live and to grow together.  There have been times where I've tried to throw him out, good thing he's stubborn and wouldn't go :)
But all of my very favorite moments have also happened in the last four years: saying yes across the alter, moving into three different apartments, welcoming Owen into our lives, finding out we get to welcome another little one, so many different jobs, countless conversations I will never forget.. The list goes on and on.
I'm so in love with Clark, it's crazy. Building our life together has only made me love him more and I'm beyond excited to see what the next years and eternity will bring us.

I love you Clark, and I can't believe I'm lucky enough to call you mine :)

Clark turns 25

Yesterday was Clark's Birthday. He lucked out and got to give a talk in sacrament meeting. From what I heard between struggling with Owen he did a great job :)
Since his Birthday landed on a Sunday this year we mostly celebrated on Saturday. We hung out at the mall, picked out his Birthday present (a camping BBQ thing and a fire starter) and then went to dinner at Wingers. It was the first time Owen actually behaved in a restaurant so that was a good Birthday present in itself. Then we went home, put Owen to bed and watched the Dark Knight. On Sunday, his actual Birthday, we went to my family's house for dinner and cake and ice cream for both Clark and Travis.
I hope it was a good Birthday, I never feel like I do enough to make it special enough. And 25 is a pretty big one, it's half way to 50!!
Happy Birthday, Clark! I sure love you!

Someone's getting promoted

This little guy here is getting a promotion...

In about 5 months he'll have the responsibility of being the big brother around here!

Baby D #2 will be joining us the middle of June (the 17th to be exact). We are beyond thrilled! We've already had a couple doctors appointments where we got to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. It's the sweetest miracle. I never want to leave the office.

As you can see by the picture. Owen's not quite sure what to think. He doesn't really understand what's going on, but I think he will start to soon. Especially when my belly keeps getting bigger and bigger. His dad and I cannot wait to see him become a big brother, or to meet our new little one.

Man what a year 2013 was! I can't believe how much change can happen in just one year. Owen grew leaps and bounds. He went from being a little baby with no teeth and barely crawling to a full blown toddler with 12 teeth and a pretty full vocabulary! I can't wait for this year to work on loving this little boy even more, if that's possible.
Clark and I grew leaps and bounds, too. We went through things I never imagined we would ever have to. Although we aren't completely past it, it has made us so much stronger and I look forward to this year to work even more on us and on forgiveness and on trust.
It has been a year full of memories and trials. I'm more than happy to close the book on 2013 and live fully in 2014. I love starting a new year. It's like a blank slate waiting to be filled with whatever we choose to fill it with and I'm choosing to only fill it with happiness and love :)
and of course I'll try to eat healthy and exercise more, but who am I kidding?
