24 Weeks

Dear sweet boy,
Today I had your 24 week doctors appointment. The doctor said everything is going perfectly. :) you have no idea how happy that makes me, to know that you are growing just the way you should be.
Now you're the size of a cantaloupe. You're starting to hear my voice and heartbeat, and you're skin is starting to turn more of a pink color rather than opaque. I absolutely love reading about you're development each week, in case you can't tell by all my updates.
You're dad and I are starting to throw names around for you. I know I don't want to settle on just one until I meet you. I was the same way with you're brother. I have a couple that I'm pretty set on, though. I love listening for new names, hoping I find one that will be perfect for you.
The other day, little Owen got to feel you kicking! He gasped and quickly moved his hand away. He's starting to understand that there's a baby (you!) in there. Whenever I ask where the baby is he insists on lifting up my shirt to find my bare belly to point at. He loves you already :) just like we all do. I hope you always feel that you are so so loved.
Love,
Mom
Ps- you're dad took that picture on our way into our doctors appointment this evening. It's been so nice outside! It feels like spring and it's only February!

Conference Weekend

I found this in my drafts and figured it's better late than never to post it, right?? ...

Conference weekend was great, like always.

On Saturday we got Carl's jr. breakfast and ate it while watching the first session. Then we all went and got our haircut (I chopped mine!), came home and put Owen down for a nap, and watched the second session while snuggling in bed and eating left over CafĂ© Rio. That night, we went to my family's house and while the boys went to priesthood the girls worked on some fall and Halloween crafts, then we met up with the men for dinner at Los Amigos.

On Sunday we went to my family's house and had a yummy breakfast. I made cinnamon rolls to keep Clark's family tradition going. In between the sessions we took a walk around Springlake and fed the ducks.  After the second session we made some yummy kabobs for dinner.

It was a great weekend filled with family and sweet words of the gospel. Its crazy how you can listen to a talk and know it was written just for you. I'm so thankful for the words of the prophet and for the knowledge that it comes straight from our loving Heavenly Father. He really does know us and knows what we  need. And that knowledge brings so much peace.

President's Day

Last Monday for President's Day we headed up to Bubble Rock to shoot some guns, ride four wheelers and eat dutch oven. It was fun to get out of the house after being couped up all winter long. Although the weather wasn't perfect, it wasn't too bad when the wind wasn't blowing.
Of course, Owen had such a fun time.  I can tell we're going to be spending a lot of time outside this summer. He's in his element out there. He loved being able to eat all the treats he wanted. I'm pretty sure he ate his weight in Cheetos. And I successfully went the whole time without anyone making me try to shoot a gun, so I'd say it was a good day. :)

Ice Castles

This last weekend while Hillary and Dyllan were visiting we all headed up to Midway to visit the infamous ice castles. We'd been trying to go for weeks so we were excited to finally get to go. Owen didn't love it as much as I imagined. He was afraid of the tunnels and wasn't a fan of the melting ice dripping on his head. But it was outside and with his favorite people so of course he still had a good time.
It was amazing to see all the different ice formations. I don't know how they made it, but it was full of giant cliffs of ice with tunnels built in, an ice maze, and an ice slide!

22 weeks

Dear baby,
You've been growing in my belly for 22 (almost 23!) weeks and you are about the
size of a 20 ounce Papaya! You've about doubled your size since the last post! You're growing so fast and as I've come to learn with your brother, that's never going to slow down.
You're starting to look more like a newborn now that your lips and eyelids are more fully developing. Oh, I can't wait to meet you and see that sweet face. I wonder if you'll take after Owen and look like your dad, or me.
You're also starting to sleep in longer cycles, 12 to 14 hours! How about after you're born we keep that from about 8 pm to 8 am? :) just kidding. Some of my favorite memories of little baby Owen is getting up and nursing him in the quiet hours of the night and I can't wait to make those memories with you.
You gave us the best Valentine's gift yesterday when you let you're dad feel you kick for the first time. It was just a couple good movements laying in bed after a great Valentine's date. Goodness, I love that dad of yours. And he sure loves you!
I can't help but feel so blessed everyday to get to hold you so close to me, little one. I hope you can feel my heart race everytime I feel you move, I don't think that excitement is ever going to go away.
Love you forever,
Mom
