We've got ourselves a toddler

Last week, Friday August, 23 to be exact.
Owen started walking all over the place.
Now, he had been taking a few steps here and there
But he was still crawling for the majority of the time
And then it was like something clicked and he just started walking!
And has been ever since.

He is the cutest little toddler I have ever seen.
He is oh-so cautious and takes the smallest steps
He keeps his hands up close to his body to catch him if he falls.
He's learning how to turn and loves pivoting on one foot.
I love when he is being chased and his
legs go faster than his body and he
falls on his little bum. It's pretty adorable.
I don't know if I've ever been prouder of someone.
What an accomplishment. And it's been quite a long way coming.

And once again, he steals my heart <3

Yuba Trip

A couple weeks ago,
When Clark got home from work we packed up
and headed to Yuba Resevoir to meet my family
we got there just in time to help with dinner
we had yummy cajun chicken alfredo,
salad, and garlic bread.

We stayed up late visiting.
GG showed Owen the moon,
which is now his new obsession.
He learned how to say "GG"
and  "Ba-Ba-Ba" (Grandpa Bob)

We slept in the tent,
woke up to the water,
and spent the day on the beach.
It was a bit windy and stormy
but still fun.
We took a little ride on the wave runners.
Walked back to camp and had lunch
and headed back home.

Perfect. Weekend.

Grandpa Sam's 80th Birthday

On Friday as soon as Clark got home from work
we packed up (again.) and drove
to Heber Valley Camp.
Where we enjoyed time with the Sams.
My mom's side of the family.

Heber Valley Camp is an LDS camp.
Lots of YW have there girls camp there
it's REALLY big
and REALLY nice
and right between the Vernal Sams and us

We celebrated Grandpa's 80th Birthday
which was a couple weeks earlier.
We made him a photo book.
everyone added pictures and wrote notes
and memories.
I thought it was an awesome idea,
and it turned out great.
He loved it.

On Saturday we had Breakfast together
and had a little morning side with one of the missionaries.
we passed around scriptures and
marked our favorite verses

^^ Playing with Hunter, Owen's second cousin

we went canoing and paddle boating
owen played in the sand with new friends
we cleaned up the camp sight
and headed home.

^^ It's not camping without a dirty face, right?

^^ I don't know what it is with this kid and holes.

^^ Owen found some friends to play with on the beach.

It was another perfect weekend
With family we don't see often enough

Sunday dinner up the canyon

When my family was younger we would have
Sunday dinners up the canyon all the time.
We would pack everything up,
our Dad would make a yummy dutch oven dinner,
and we would head up Santaquin Canyon.
The kids would play in the stream and hike around
and the grown ups would sit and visit.
Those were my favorite Sundays.

A couple weeks ago Owen got to experience
his first Sunday dinner up the canyon.
And he loved it.
As I expected.
He loved sticking his toes in the stream,
throwing rocks,
and exploring with "da-da" and aunt "re-hee"

We enjoyed spare ribs, salad, rolls, corn on the cob
with Grandma and Grandpa
and Dan and Mary.

It was the perfect way to spend one of the last
Sundays of the summer.

Presenting Tyler and Hannah Goode

My little sister is married. The one that would put her Bitty Babies to bed each night. The one that had a break down when some kids got a hold of said bitty baby and ripped it to pieces and we had to send it to a doll hospital. Our mom had to include a note making sure the head stayed the same because she loved all those love marks. My sister, who used to throw things down the stairs when she  got mad. Who made the cutest little Cindy Lou Who ever. Now she's all grown up and married.

Her wedding was perfect. From being the first grandchild to be sealed by our Grandpa, to her dress, to her hair, to the groom, to everything about her reception. It was beautiful. She put so much detail into everything, and it showed.

Happy marriage Hannah and Tyler! You both deserve the best! I'll love you forever Hannah-Banana-Fe-Fi-Fo-Fanana-Snuggle-Bunny-Mulan-Menlove-Goode <3

Powell N' Around

We had so so much fun with this years Powell trip! We got to stay on our aunt and uncles house boat, which was a big improvement from camping on the beach last year (Not that that wasn't fun too). We enjoyed good food, played all day everyday, and made so many memories including knee boarding, tubing, jumping off the house boat, night swimming, Jeff jumping off a 40 ft cliff, Lily showing her fearless side by jumping off everything she could, letting Owen get as dirty as he wanted, Owen getting to spend quality time with cousins, getting to know my newer brothers in law, the boys getting up every morning to fish, watching Owen enjoy HOURS of playing on the beach, riding on the wave runners, spending time with Clark, snuggling Owen in our bed, and loving every second in the sun with family. It's getting harder and harder to get the whole family together and I'm learning to cherish the rare times that we do.

I was surprised by how well Owen did the entire time. From wearing his life vest practically 24/7, to sleeping, to napping, to spending 6+ hours on the beach at a time he was a champ! And not only did he tolerate it, but he LOVED it. He woke up every morning saying "wa-wa!" (water). I sure love him.

I can't wait till next year! :)
