Angel Moroni

Last Thursday we were lucky enough to hear word that they were going to put up the Angel Moroni
on the Payson Temple.
The Temple still isn't scheduled to open until 2015 so I was surprised they put it up so soon.
in my mind that would be one of the last things to be done.
It was way cool to watch though.
I'm so excited for it to be done! We will be able to go to the Temple in our own town and hopefully that will make it easier to go more often.

Nursery

Yesterday we took Owen to nursery at church for the first time.
I've been nervous about it, so we've put it off since he's turned 18 months.
I guess I had nothing to worry about because he stayed the whole 2 hours without even crying.
at all.
I couldn't help but snatch a picture during one of the check ups I did every 20 minutes.
That's him playing so quietly with the cars.
It's hard watching your baby grow up.

Worst.Night.EVER.

So a few weeks ago we went with my family on the annual deer hunt camping trip to Lavan.
It was so cold that we decided to sleep in the trailer with everyone instead of a tent, for the first time.
It was TERRIBLE. We tried to get Owen to sleep in between us and he woke up every hour screaming! And there was nothing we could do to stop him. We tried rocking him, bouncing him, talking to him. Everything. He just screamed. Until he'd eventually fall asleep just to wake up again in an hour. Finally at about 2 in the morning I decided to pack him up and take him home. No body wanted to listen to him cry all night, I was getting frustrated from it all. I could tell Clark was getting frustrated. And all the boys had to get up early the next morning to go hunting.
So I packed him up and headed home.
He stopped crying as soon as I started getting ready to leave and he fell asleep in the car and slept like a baby the entire way home.
When we got home I put him in the crib and he slept soundly until 9 in the morning.
I was worried he was sick or something, because he NEVER acts like that.
It must have just been too different for him.
He loves his crib, which is a good thing. But not at times like that.

I ended up driving up there every day and coming back at night. It made for a lot of driving that weekend, but I didn't mind getting to sleep in my bed and having some time for myself after I put him down. And Owen still loved camping during the day. He had so much fun stomping around. He is such an explorer. And as always, he LOVED the four wheelers.

The point of the story is, we will never go camping without his pack n' play again.

Salem Pond

We've been trying to get as many little adventures in as we can before the weather turns too cold. This one was a couple weeks ago.
We walked around the pond, fed the ducks, and played on the playground until it got too cold.
The ducks were extra friendly and even made Owen cry when one walked right up and ate a piece of bread he was holding on to.
He had so much fun on the playground and loved giving us kisses through the bars.
I don't know how this nature-loving boy is going to survive the winter!
