Transition to the Big Boy Bed

Last week we made the big transition from the crib to the toddler bed. We debated for awhile the idea of putting Owen in a twin bed or buying a toddler bed. Then my cousin offered us her old toddler bed set, so that helped make the decision. :)
The original plan was to make the switch on his second birthday but I kept putting it off. Half of it was that I wasn't ready for him to, it just meant he was getting that much older. And half that I was so not ready to get up a million times a night to herd him back to bed. In my mind he'd be getting up and wandering around the house or trying to come into "mommas bed". But it couldn't have been easier! The first night was a little rough because we didn't have the rail thing all the way attached. Clark had to do some work on it. So when Owen leaned up against it, because he is the craziest sleeper, he fell out and then was scared to be left alone. But after we got that fixed it's been the smoothest sailing. He loves his big boy bed and his new room.  He goes right to sleep and we don't hear from him till morning. When he wakes up he doesn't even get out of bed, he just calls for me like he did in his crib. Once he got out and stood in the door way calling for me, but he wouldn't come out of the room till he saw me. Ha ha.
Napping, on the other hand, has been a different story. I originally wanted to keep him in his crib for naps but after the first day of him crying for his big boy bed the whole time and then we moved his curtains into the other room and haven't gotten new ones yet so it's too bright in there, so now we put him down in the toddler bed. We put the stair rail up in the doorway to keep him in but he only naps half the time. The other half he is standing in the doorway calling for us, giving any excuse to get us to come get him. "Momma, poop!" "Owen watch movie!" "Owie on leg! Momma kiss it!" All of which I'm learning are never true. That boy. It makes my momma heart hurt and smile at the same time to watch him grow up.

Also, he LOVES all his stuffed animals. Especially that grey kitty. Sometimes it makes me want to cry thinking about how sweet he is.

31 weeks

Dear sweet girl,
Well we've hit the 30 week mark!! I feel like this is a huge milestone. In my mind, ladies who are over 30 weeks are super pregnant. And now I'm one of those ladies!
I can tell you are starting to get pretty squished in there because I am feeling you kick more and more. And they are getting stronger too, especially up in my ribs and against my hip. Ouch! It's still my favorite part about being pregnant :)
I'm also feeling pretty huge these days, which I also love. It means you are growing! Right now you are about the size of a 3 pound pineapple. I can't believe you're still going to more than double your weight before you're born! I don't know how you'll fit, I don't think my skin can stretch anymore! And all five senses are now working.
Last week we went and had another ultrasound. I just had to make sure you were a girl before I bought too much. And so far, you're still looking like a little girl! It was fun to see you wiggling all around on the screen. :)
We're getting so anxious to meet you, little one. One things for sure, you are going to be one loved little girl. :)
Love you forever,
Mom
P.s. Last Saturday, me and your dad drove to manti temple with your aunt Hannah, uncle Tyler, grandma and grandpa. The temple was closed, so we didn't get to go in, but it made for a good photo opportunity :)
P.p.s. Here is a sneak peak of the quilt I am working on for you. I am so excited about it!
